Born in '54, married, native of St. Louis, living in Mt. Juliet, just outside of Nashville since '14.
I have been shooting photos since I was a kid. For me, the art of photography is an expression of passion and emotion, just like music. Much of my photography work is influenced by the music I listen to. Shooting live entertainment helps feed and satisfy that passion. Capturing the real emotion of entertainers performing live on stage is a special interest and art form.
While I have shot countless candid photos of people over a lifetime, I now spend more time doing informal headshots using natural light. I like using this medium because it allows me to focus on capturing the person rather than staging a formal pose and having to make various lighting adjustments. Black and white rendering and finishing works well with the results.
Landscape photography is another long term pursuit. One particular niche is capturing “island” landscape in a panoramic / virtual reality format. It's a thrill to be able to capture a landscape scene with a view of up to 180° by 360°.
